Claroline Connect, which developed out of the Spiral Connect (UCBL 1) and Claroline (managed by the Claroline International Consortium) education platforms, is a cutting-edge e-learning platform for the development of the education of the future and the creation of educational ecosystems.

Institute of Technology IUT LYON 1 (http://iut.univ-lyon1.fr/)  aims to train technician higher education for the sector of the food-processing but also pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biotechnological to join the domains of the production, the packaging, the control, the research and development.

The department Biological Engineering of the IUT LYON 1 site of Bourg-en-Bresse dispenses proposed trainings allowing the students to integrate the food-processing industrial sector which occupies a leading place to the national level. In 1992, a partnership between UCBL 1 and the local authorities (General Council of Ain and Chamber of commerce and industry, City of Bourg-en-Bresse) allowed to set up, on the science park ALIMENTEC (http://www.alimentec.com/).

IUT members implied in KNOWinFOOD have expertise in: designing food products; implementation of new manufacturing processes or control; feasibility studies and market research for envisaged new products or services; Develop a business and / or marketing plan.
